Egg Freezing for Singles

Egg freezing for singles is immediately made at our IVF center in Cyprus.

The key criterion for your fertility is not your chronological age but the age of your eggs. What does this mean? Your eggs at your 20 are not equal to your eggs at your 30.

A woman is born with eggs and she loses those eggs as she gets older. There are very few eggs left at the age of 40. Most of the women at their 35-40 have fertility problems.

You might have to delay your dream of pregnancy when you are single and you can freeze your eggs while single. Being single is not an obstacle to freeze your eggs and get pregnant in the future.

Pretreatment and Follow-up in Egg Freezing

After necessary tests and examination, a preparation protocol is determined based on the patient’s age and egg reserves; and the pretreatment starts by any doctor to be determined by the patient herself or a doctor to be recommended by us in her country. The pretreatment starts on the 2nd or 3rd day of the patient’s menstrual bleeding and the treatment takes about 10-15 days. Egg Unfreezing and IVF Treatment

When our patient is ready for pregnancy, the patient is checked for her eligibility for pregnancy. If there is no problem for pregnancy, the pretreatment is started on the 2nd or 3rd day once she plans pregnancy. In the pretreatment process, the uterus is stimulated by estrogen preparations. Thus, the uterus reaches the thickness to carry the pregnancy.

Upon the completion of the pretreatment, the patient arrives in Cyprus with her spouse. Sperm sample is taken from the future father. And then, the egg cells which were previously frozen and kept are unfrozen. Egg and sperm cells are brought together and fertilized by microinjection (ICSI) method. The fertilized eggs are taken to embryo transfer on the 3rd or 5th day based on the quality of the development process and transplanted to the patient’s uterus and the treatment is completed.

1-week stay in Cyprus is sufficient for egg unfreezing and IVF treatment.

How Long Can the Eggs Be Frozen?

You can freeze your eggs for an indefinite period of time. This way, you will have a chance to have a biological child but it still does not guarantee that you will have a child.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Egg Freezing

One of the most important reasons why the pregnancy rate decreases with age is because the quality of the eggs reduces with age. Since the egg freezing is made at an earlier age, the cell’s age stays young even if the woman’s age is getting older. There will be higher chance of pregnancy upon unfreezing the frozen eggs in IVF treatment in the future.

The disadvantage is the ethical responsibility of being a mother at an older age after menopause when fertility function is not available anymore.
